Classes for Adults

We provide classes for all students – beginning, elementary, intermediate and advanced. Courses take place once a week and last 90 minutes. We offer both in-person and online sessions and can also accommodate students who want to study privately. Reach out to us and we will try to find the right fit for you!

Academic Calendar 2026/2027

Fall: From September 14th to December 3rd, 2026 (10 weeks; no classes during Czech Heritage Week, September 21st–25th and Thanksgiving, November 23rd–27th)
Winter: From January 11th to March 19th, 2027 (10 weeks)
Spring: From March 29th to June 4th, 2027 (10 weeks)

Online Classes

Please, check your time zone before signing up. The schedule below is in Chicago/Central Time. Students don't need to be from the Chicagoland area to join our online sessions. Anyone is welcome!

Beginners:

  • Wednesday 7:30–9:00 PM CT

Elementary:

  • Monday 7:30–9:00 PM CT
  • Thursday 5:00–6:30 PM CT

Intermediate:

  •  Tuesday 5:30–7:00 PM CT

Advanced:

  •  Wednesday 5:30–7:00 PM CT

In-Person Classes

Beginners:

  • Tuesday 7:30–9:00 PM

Advanced:

  • Thursday 7:00–8:30 PM

 Czech Language and Culture Club:

  • Wednesday 2:30–4:00 PM

Levels

If you are not sure what level to choose, please contact us at info@czechschoolchicago.org. We will schedule a short online consultation to help you get placed in the right level.

  • Beginners (no prior knowledge of Czech is required)
  • Elementary (pre-requisite: Beginners or equivalent)
  • Intermediate (pre-requisite: Elementary or equivalent)
  • Advanced (pre-requisite: Intermediate or equivalent)
  • Czech Language and Culture Club

Number of Students

A minimum of 5 students is required in order to open a course. The maximum is 12 students per class. Should a course be canceled, students may opt for an alternative course at a different time, or request a full refund of the tuition fee.

The registration deadline is Thursday, September 10th, 2026. The schedule will be confirmed to each student by the same day (September 10th, 2026).

Registration and Tuition

To register for a class, please fill in the online registration form. No paper form is necessary. The tuition is $200 per quarter. You can pay online or by a check.
