Online Summer Classes for Adults

Please, check your time zone before signing up. The schedule below is in Chicago/Central Time. Students don't need to be from the Chicagoland area to join our online sessions. Anyone is welcome!

Intensive Beginners

  • Mondays through Thursdays, July 7 - 24
  • 7:00 - 8:30 PM CT
  • Daily course, 12 lessons total
  • No or minimal knowledge of Czech required
  • All course materials provided and included in registration fee
  • Registration fee: $250

Czech Conversation

  • Mondays & Wednesdays, July 7 - 23
  • 5:00 - 6:30 PM CT
  • 6 lessons in 3 weeks, each covering a different theme
  • Ideal for returning students from Beginners and Elementary levels
  • All course materials provided and included in registration fee
  • Registration fee: $150

Survival Czech

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays, July 8 - 24
  • 5:00 - 6:30 PM CT
  • 6 lessons in 3 weeks, each covering a different practical theme: How to get around Czech Republic; How to order food in the restaurant; What to do – and what not to do; and more.
  • Ideal for travelers to the Czech Republic; no prior knowledge required
  • Registration fee: $150

Czech Challenge 5x5

  • July 1–25
  • Short daily emails full of interesting facts about five different topics: Czech history, culture, cuisine, geography, and traditions
  • Provided in both Czech and English
  • Registration fee: $80

Registration Form

Number of Students

A minimum of 5 students is required in order to open a course. The maximum is 12 students per class. Should a course be canceled, students may opt for an alternative course at a different time, or request a full refund of the tuition fee.

The registration deadline is Friday, June 27, 2025. The schedule will be confirmed to each student by the same day.

To register for a class, please fill in the online registration form. No paper form is necessary. You can pay online or by a check.

  • Check - Please, make your check payable to the T. G. Masaryk School and write the full name of the student on the memo line (if different from the account holder's name). Mail the check to the school by the registration deadline. The address is 5701 W 22nd Place, Cicero, IL 60804.

Lecturer

The Masaryk School is excited to welcome newly appointed lector, Kristýna Horáčková. Kristýna graduated in Czech Language and Literature at Charles University in Prague and has been teaching Czech to foreigners for 15 years. She has worked in language schools and non-profit organizations and has experience with students from all over the world. In addition to teaching Czech to foreigners, she is also involved in further education of lecturers and teachers.
